Description
To create ESAG's tax strategy and ensure it complies with federal tax laws and minimize the organization's audit risk. The primary focus will be advising Group companies on the various tax implications of their operations.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Creating and reviewing tax returns strategy for accuracy and recommending changes to ensure that all requirements are met.
  • Facilitate organizational expansions, including mergers and acquisitions by accurately documenting all transactions from a tax perspective and researching and reviewing current tax laws to ensure that the acquisition process is accurate and complete.
  • Perform tax services in compliance with laws and regulations to ensure the organization does not under or overpay its taxes due to a tax law change, which could lead to penalties or losses.
  • Overseeing and managing organizational audits by the respective tax authorities.
  • Building and maintaining tax strategies, preparing and filing the organization's tax returns, and staying up to date on new tax legislation.
  • Acting as mentors or general supervisors to other accounting employees, ensuring the accuracy of the tax team's work, and leading internal tax initiatives, such as audits or investigations into organizational issues that might spur tax challenges.
  • Build relationships with entity accounts heads to provide excellent planning, consulting, and expertise.
  • Manage the entire tax provision and tax compliance process
  • Suggest innovative solutions for process improvement using best practices.
  • Manage and coordinate internal and external tax audits
  • Prepare all tax papers on a regular basis and handle all data requests

  • A degree in economics, finance, tax, or accounting
  • A relevant Master's degree, CPA or ACA/CA/CPA/CMA/SOCPA/Law qualification/CTA or equivalent tax qualification
  • A minimum of 78 years of relevant experience working with large conglomerate/family businesses in a role that involves oversight of international tax matters
  • Previous experience with Big 4, major law firm, inhouse family office, and/or private banking experience desirable.
