    Description

    Verotis is seeking an experienced SecurityEngineer to support security operations, strategy, planning,architecture, vulnerability assessments and remediation, andcoordination with various government security entities. Thisincludes the documentation of security strategy, planning,architecture, implementation and operation of a wide range ofsecurity technologies in mission critical environment. Thecandidate should be familiar with the following:

    • Security Operations, Engineering, andArchitecture
    • Sourcefire NIDS
    • McAfee ePO (HBSS)
    • Nessus/SecurityCenter
    • Splunk
    • Firewalls (Cisco ASA)
    • RedHat/CentOS/Ubuntu/*nix
    • Windows Desktop andServer Operating Systems
    • VirtualizationTechnologies (VMWare, etc)

    Thecandidate will be responsible for updating system software,reviewing and applying content (AV, NIDS) updates, developingcustom signatures and content, administration of firewalls, IDS,and other security system rule sets and policies. The candidatewill need to have a strong knowledge of the underlying technologiesthat contribute to the system infrastructure and how they interact.Network, Operating Systems, Applications and Servers, and SecurityHardware and Software.

    FunctionalResponsibilities:

    The candidate may perform anyor all of the following:

    • Developsystem security design documentation
    • Developnetwork security systems and security operation center knowledgebase articles, how-to documents, standard operating procedures, andpolicies
    • Develop incident investigation andincident handling knowledge base articles, how-to documents, andstandard operating procedures
    • Design,implement, maintain, administer, and operate network securitysystems
    • Review all IT system developmentplans to ensure designs meet governmental regulatory standards andprovide an appropriate level of protection for the client systemsand data that interacts with those systems
    • Conducts analysis of system requirements and components andperforms system audits to ensure intended system functionality,operation, and performance requirements are met
    • Develops programs, scripts, or code segmentsas necessary to facilitate operation, administration, maintenance,or analysis of data and systems
    • Performsevaluation and review of GOTS/COTS software and systems to ensurethey meet government regulatory requirements
    • Evaluates, installs, configures, tests, and updates networksecurity systems and hardware
    • Trained andskilled individual with in-depth knowledge of the Security Taskslisted in the SOW. Resource will provide training and knowledgetransfer on these technologies to the other operational resourcesteam

    Qualifications:

    • Must have active Top Secret/SCIclearance
    • Minimum of 8 years of general workexperience and 6 years of relevant experience in functionalresponsibility
    • Bachelor s Degree, or anequivalent combination of formal education,experience
    • Understanding of and experienceworking in a classified environment
    • Candidateshould have strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Candidate should have concise writing skills,excellent MS Word skills as well as other MS Office Applications
    • CISSP, GCFW, GSEC, Splunk, or othercertifications preferred (not required)
    • Thorough understanding and knowledge of TCP/IP networking
    • Experience with network security tools suchas Tenable Nessus/SecurityCenter, SourceFire IDS, Cisco ASA,Splunk, etc.
    • Understanding and experiencewith virtualization technologies (VMWare) a plus
    • Experience with the following: Windows Server2008/2012, Windows 7/8/10, McAfee ePO (HBSS), SourceFire IDS,Syslog (rsyslog, syslog-ng, etc), Linux variants(RedHat/CentOS/Ubuntu), Event log collection, scripting (Python,Perl, Bash, PowerShell), VMWare
