    Description
    • At least 5+ years'experience in coastal ecology with thorough knowledge of the marine& coastal ecology of the Middle East, or at least tropicalmarine & coastal habitats. Knowledge should include some orall of the following: major issues associated with climate change /coastal developments; relocation/reconstruction of coral reef,seagrass, mangrove habitats (feasibility/monitoring); complexitiesof jurisdictions coastal zone management, ecosystems servicesrelated to ICZM
    • Familiarity with internationalstandards/legislation and best practice guidelines and techniquesfor coastal ecology surveying, monitoring and restoration in theMiddle East / tropical marine & coastalenvironments.
    • Familiarity with current andemerging key environmental issues pertaining to e.g., climatechange, biodiversity loss, and sustainability, and their potentialimpacts on marine & coastal ecosystems in the MiddleEast.
    • Extensive experience of designing,conducting and supervising coastal ecological surveys, use of GIStools, impact assessments and monitoring programs in the MiddleEast / tropical marine & coastalenvironments.
    • Experience of procuring, managingand supervising subcontractors
    • Thoroughunderstanding of the mechanisms for biodiversityprotection/enhancement, particularly within the context of climatechange.
    • Strong organization skills with theability to prioritize delivery on multiple projects in parallelunder challenging timeframes.
    • Ability toprepare high-quality reports and technical documents for clientsand regulatory bodies, demonstrating a high standard of technicalwriting and communication skills inEnglish.
