    • To beprofessionally and legally responsible and accountable for allaspects of own work and to ensure a high standard of clinical carefor patients under own care and support other team members to dolikewise
    • To undertake a comprehensive, highlyspecialist Occupational therapy assessment of patients includingthose with the most complex presentation, using advancedinvestigative and analytical skills
    • To selectappropriate treatment techniques, this may include improvingindependence in ADLs, provide the necessary assistive devices,conducting seating assessments etc.
    • To safelyuse the splinting techniques in accordance with the PIMC guidelinesformulated.
    • To conduct a seating assessment toprovide a suitable seating system forpatients.
    • To review and evaluatepatient's condition at each session and amend thetreatment program as necessary to achieve plannedobjectives
    • To maintain comprehensive andaccurate assessment and treatment records in line with legal anddepartmental requirements, and communicate assessment and treatmentresults to the appropriate disciplines in the form of reports andclinical handovers (SBAR).
    • To efficiently andeffectively manage designated case load with regard to clinicalresponsibilities and use of time
    • To work withmembers of the multi-disciplinary team, to ensure optimal outcomesfor the patient
    • To provide advice, teaching andinstruction to patient, relatives and carers regarding theirmedical management and care needs to ensure a consistent approachto patient care, whilst promoting understanding of the aims ofOccupational Therapy
    • To communicate effectivelywith patients and carers, whilst addressing cultural, religious andlanguage barriers, to maximise rehabilitation potential, to ensureunderstanding of condition and address anxieties and concerns.Communication skills of persuasion, motivation, explanation, andgaining informed consent will be used with a wide variety ofpatients.
    • Being an active member of thein-service training program by the attendance and presentation atstaff meetings, tutorials, training sessions, external courses andreflective practice
    • Informal/formal supervisionwith Senior Occupational Therapist/ and or Manager
    • Participate in the staff appraisal scheme andidentify objectives for personal development with the SeniorOccupational Therapist/ and or Manager.
    • Toattend mandatory training sessions, including annual fire andsafety lectures, cardiac resuscitation lectures and safe patientmanual handling training
    • To ensure theapplication of professional standards in day-to-day practice ofOccupational Therapy
    • To be responsible forequipment used in carrying out clinical duties and to adhere todepartmental equipment policy, including competence to useequipment and to ensure the safe use of equipment byothers
    • To comply with the organizational anddepartmental policies and procedures.
    • Any otherduties that might be considered appropriate by the SeniorOccupational Therapist and/or Manager.
    • Toensure that all duties are carried out to the highest possiblestandard
