Job summary
The Steel Fixer is responsible for reading and interpreting construction drawings, bar bending schedules, and specifications to fix steel reinforcement for concrete structures such as slabs, columns, beams foundations walls. They must tie reinforcement bars securely using wire clips or welding where required position and secure steel bars spacers chairs correctly before concrete pouring ensure proper alignment spacing cover of reinforcement as per drawings work closely with supervisors engineers other construction workers follow all site safety rules regulations at all times maintain tools equipment in good working condition report any material shortages defects safety issues to the supervisor.
