    Description

    Responsibilities

    • Acts as advisor to upper managementin Cybersecurity matters. Provides guidance to Cybersecurityarchitects in the design and development of securitysolutions
    • Directs security solutions andtechnical assurance in alignment with business risk and regulatoryrequirements
    • Works closely with management todefine and promote the strategic direction of the team. Developscyber solutions, internal processes and standards for threatintelligence workflow
    • Articulates defensivesecurity measures, define new security requirements and developmitigation techniques to maximize protection and preservation ofthe Brand
    • Advises leadership on the entirerange of risk matters facing the department and ensures themitigation of operational risk. Ensures compliance to audit,regulatory and legal requirements
    • Designsmetrics models and develops advanced capabilities to ensureconfidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication andnon-repudiation. Develops unique cybersecurity performance and riskindicators to maintain constant awareness of status of the highlydynamic operating environment
    • Mentor andprovide leadership to the team ensuring assessments products arerisk-based, accurate and meet the enterprise governance / servicelevel agreement requirements.
    • Provide expertlevel guidance and coaching for complex vendor assessments managingthe risk appropriately.
    • Demonstrate strongunderstanding of Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) program andassociated governance oversight including Issuesmanagement.
    • Continuously partner to enhance theTPRM Subject Matter Expert (SME) program to perform comprehensivesecurity assessments of third-party vendors to identify risks andvulnerabilities.
    • Report the SME program KeyRisk Indicator metrics to seniormanagement.
    • Demonstrate ability to analyze ISO27001, SOC 2, SIG, and familiarity with security frameworks such asNIST 800-53, CSF, financial services related regulatory guidance /laws such as GLBA, FFIEC and international regulations such asGDPR.
    • Collaborate closely with key stakeholdersincluding internal business partners, second line, auditors, riskofficers and vendors as the lead subject matterexpert.
    • Manage the life cycle of cyber findings/ Issues and liaison with stakeholders for permanentremediation.
    • Assist in the review andmaintenance of TPRM governance Standard documentation related tothe program.
    • Liaison with Business InformationSecurity Office (BISO) team to optimize workloaddelivery.
    • Actively monitor and escalate riskand customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role ofmanagement.
    • Demonstrate excellent value-addedcommunication and technical writingskills.
    • Advance knowledge / seek training inthe field of information security management including the emergingthreat actors' techniques, tactics, and procedures(TTP).
    • Be a frequent value-added in forums andachieve team commitments (and influence the team do the sameleading by example) by using informal leadership & advancedcommunication skills.
    • Communicate effectivelyand promptly every day and lead vendor risk discussions atDiscover. Conduct oversight on program impacting decisions. Guideteam to achieve key results for the assigned security assessmenttasks.

    MinimumQualifications

    Ata minimum, here's what we need fromyou:

    • Bachelors – ComputerScience, Information Security, Business or Analytics orrelated
    • 8+ Years – InformationSecurity, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Analytics orrelated
    • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10+Years of experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity,Computer Science, Data Analytics or related

    Internal applicantsonly: technical proficiency rating of expert on theDreyfus cybersecurityscale

    Qualifications

    Ifwe had our say, we'd also lookfor:

    • 6+years in core third party vendor risk management focused onassessment of information security controls, at least 2 years in aleadership role.
    • Principles of enterprise riskmanagement lifecycle.
    • Familiarity with IncidentResponse, penetration testing principles, Common VulnerabilityScoring System (CVSS), and MITRE
    • GIAC, CISSP orCISM certifications.
    • Knowledge of BusinessContinuity Planning (BCP) / Resiliencyprinciples.
    • Familiarity with industrycybersecurity frameworks / standards such as NIST 800-53, PCI-DSSand CSA.
    • Notable experience in assessment oftechnological information security threats and controls and risktiering based on a risk managementframework.
    • Understanding of Agilemethodology.
