    Description
    • To play a major role under thedirection of the Principal in formulating the aims and objectivesof the school, establishing the policies through which they shallbe achieved, managing staff and resources to achieve the aims andobjectives of the school and monitor progress towards theirachievement.
    • Undertake the professional dutiesof the Vice Principal, as required by the Principal, in the eventof his/her absence from the school.
    • Inpartnership with the Principal, Vice Principal and the MiddleLeadership Team, provide professional leadership and management ofteaching and learning throughout the school.
    • Toprovide professional leadership and management of SchoolDevelopment Plan priorities.
    • To assist thePrincipal and Vice Principal in the ongoing and annual review ofstandards of leadership, teaching and learning in specific areas ofresponsibility and across all areas of school provision, consistentwith the procedures in the school self-evaluationpolicy
    • Create costed subject development planswhich contribute positively to the achievement of the SchoolDevelopment Plan and which actively involves all staff in itsdesign and execution.
    • Develop and implementpolicies and practices for the subject/area(s) which reflects theschools commitment to high achievement and is consistent withcurriculum strategies and policies.
    • Promoteconsistently high expectations for studentachievement
    • Establish short, medium- andlong-term plans for the development and resourcing for the specificareas of responsibility.
    • Monitor the progressmade in achieving subject/area plans and targets, and evaluate theeffect on teaching and learning.
    • Work with thePrincipal and Vice Principal to improve the quality of teaching andlearning and students achievement, setting high expectations andmonitoring and evaluating effectiveness of learningoutcomes.
    • Provide regular feedback forcolleagues in a way which recognizes good practice and supportstheir progress against professional and performance managementobjectives resulting in a tangible impact on studentslearning.
