    JOBSUMMARY

    TheCRNA is responsible for administering anesthesia andpreparing prescribed solutions following the center s appropriatemethods andprocedures.

    JOBDESCRIPTION

    • Demonstrateknowledge and skill requirements regarding his/her role in theSafety Management Program (Safety/Security), Infection Control,Hazardous Materials, Emergency Preparedness, Life Safety, MedicalEquipment and Utility Systems, and his/her expected level ofparticipation. Submit documentation of annualupdates.

    Informphysician of patient s condition duringanesthesia

    Perform pre andpost-anesthesia patientvisits

    Documentanesthesia notes in patientrecords

    • Sedationtechniques
    • Cardiopulmonaryresuscitation management
    • Noninvasivemonitoring
    • Airway managementtechniques
    • Mechanicalventilation/oxygen therapy
    • Fluid,electrolyte, acid-basemanagement
    • Peripheral intravenouscatheter placement
    • Post anesthesiacare/discharge

    HOURSAND WORKINGCONDITIONS

    OurTX and FL ASCs are open Monday- Friday. Work hours may be subjectto change, depending on surgeryschedule.

    Hazards: Occasional contactwith communicable diseases, electrical equipment, blood bornepathogens, etc.

    Personal protectiveequipment: Provided if necessary (gowns,gloves, masks, headcover)

    Requirements

    JOBREQUIREMENTS

    • ASCexperience preferred
    • Graduate of anaccredited school of nursing; Master s degree innursing/anesthesia
    • Has a currentstate licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse andCRNA
    • Certification as a nurseanesthetist
    • Current BCLS and ACLScertification

    Demonstratecurrent, comprehensive, professional knowledge and skills inconformance with recognized nursing standards and departmentpolicies including the Patient Bill of Rights and AAAHCregulations, Standards for Nursing Care and the Nurse PracticeAct.

    • Must be able todemonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide careappropriate to the age of patients served in theCenter

    KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS ANDABILITIES

    Abilityto read and communicate effectively in English. Additionallanguagespreferred.

    Abilityto communicate in a professional manner-- able to counsel/teachcustomers, train co-workers, and positively contribute tomarketing/public relations. Ability to respond to common inquiriesor complaints from patients, regulatory agencies, or members of themedical and businesscommunity.

    Proficientcomputer skills- ability to accurately update and manage andelectronic healthcarerecord
