Senior Plumbing Design Engineer PositionLeading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer for their Detroit teamResponsibilities:

Lead plumbing design on a variety of projects (Healthcare/Labs, Industrial, Education, Institutional, and Commercial)Develop the following:

Project scopeSchedulePlumbing and fire protection budget/design approachFeasibility studies/project cost estimateValue engineeringCode ReviewProject specifications

Perform project management dutiesCoordinate project with architects, clients, and contractorsReview show drawingsPrepare construction drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems from schematic through the construction document phasesPerform/direct complex design of piping and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems for large scale buildingsSpecify plumbing/fire protection equipmentPerform QAQC on projectsMentor/train junior staff


Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred5+ years of Plumbing Design experience in Consulting EngineeringCBD or CBDT requiredEI or PE License preferredProficient in local/national building codes and design practicesExtensive knowledge of the following:

Plumbing Codes and Uniform Plumbing CodesNFPA 54; National Fuel Gas CodeRelevant building codes, sustainability, green building rating systems, industry standardsLEED compliance documentationPlumbing design/calculation resourcesRevit and AutoCAD

Understanding of and continued education of relevant trends/standard methodologies
