- Legal Strategy: Develop andimplement a comprehensive legal strategy that aligns with thecompany's business objectives, including compliance, riskmanagement, and litigation.
- Legal Compliance:Ensure that the company complies with all relevant laws,regulations, and industry standards, including those related tosafety, environmental regulations, and intellectualproperty.
- Contract Management: Oversee thenegotiation, drafting, and review of various contracts, agreements,and partnerships, including vendor contracts, licensing agreements,and joint ventures.
- Intellectual Property:Protect and manage the company's intellectual propertyportfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, andenforce these rights when necessary.
- LitigationManagement: Manage and oversee any legal disputes, includinglitigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolutionprocesses, in collaboration with external counsel whenrequired.
- Risk Management: Identify and assesslegal risks associated with the company's operations andprovide strategic guidance to mitigate theserisks.
- Corporate Governance: Ensure compliancewith corporate governance requirements, including board meetings,shareholder communication, and compliance with corporatebylaws.
- Mergers and Acquisitions: Provide legalsupport for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships,including due diligence, contract negotiations, and regulatoryapprovals.
- Employee Relations: Provide legalguidance on employment matters, including contracts, workplacepolicies, and dispute resolution.
- Ethical andCompliance Programs: Develop and implement ethical and complianceprograms to promote a culture of ethics and integrity within theorganization.
- Budget Management: Manage thelegal department budget, including forecasting, resourceallocation, and expense control
- TeamLeadership: Manage and mentor a team of legal professionals,including attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, fostering aculture of excellence, collaboration, andcompliance
- JurisDoctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with activemembership in the relevant state barassociation.
- Proven track record of success ina senior legal leadership role within the automobile industry or arelated field.
- Deep knowledge of automotiveindustry regulations, laws, and compliancerequirements.
- Exceptional leadership andteam-building skills with the ability to inspire and develop legalprofessionals.
- Strong negotiation,communication, and problem-solvingabilities.
- Strategic thinker with aresults-driven mindset.
- Ability to handlesensitive and confidential information withdiscretion.
- Ability to travel asrequired.
