• Leadingemployees to work injury-free/incident free in a manufacturingenvironment consistent with MBM management philosophy andframework
• Ensure safety excellence throughleading by example, promoting employee involvement, ownership, andaccountability to proactively identify hazards and implementing theappropriate mitigating strategies based on the riskinvolved
• Develop culture of hazard recognition,policy adherence and risk elimination around moped interaction atkilns
• Lead and train hourly employees to havean understanding of the expectations and ownership of MOPEDsafety
• Support plant wide MOPED teamactivities
• Using KCA's as a teachingtool as well as opportunities to check forunderstanding
• Completing KCA's plantwide
• Be a resource for safety manager forlearning events and safety reviews with plant wide leadershipexperience
• Be a leader of small groupdiscussion and knowledge gathering
• Being aleader for quality plant wide
• Implementcontrols to improve stack quality to reduce waste, improve dryingconsistency and reduce risk associated with looseboards
• Develop and facilitate assigned hourlyresources who work on a daily 12-hour, 3 shiftrotation
• Maintain moisture levels to maximizegrade yield and profitability
• Develop andimplement effective control of drying to minimize drying relateddefects
• Work closely with the process engineerand departmental supervisors to manage a total quality processthrough the plant
• Supporting planer uptime bykeeping the right product on the planer infeed and zero planerdowntime due to out of wood
• Work with Sales andPlaner to develop and meet production schedules fororders
• Developing effective plans foradvancement of the kiln team members
• BuildBench strength to back up other production supervisors anddepartment superintendent
  
  

Who You Are (BasicQualifications)

• High School Diploma orequivalent.
• Five years or more of experience asa Supervisor/leader in an industrial or manufacturingenvironment.
• Experience communicating (writtenand verbal) at all levels of theorganization.
• Experience with budget andaccounting fundamentals.
• Experience with MSWord, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
• Able towork nights, weekends, overtime and holidays asneeded.
• Previous kiln experience in CDK ordrying of Pine lumber.
