Job Description:

Seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Animal Caretaker in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The Animal Caretaker will play a vital role in providing daily care and support for the animals under our care, ensuring their well-being and welfare.

Responsibilities:

Provide daily care and maintenance for animals, including feeding, watering, and cleaning of enclosures.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns or abnormalities to senior staff.
Assist with routine health checks, grooming, and administering medications or treatments as directed by veterinary staff.
Clean and sanitize animal enclosures, exhibits, and surrounding areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Provide enrichment activities and stimuli to promote natural behaviors and mental stimulation for the animals.
Handle animals safely and appropriately during feeding, cleaning, and handling procedures.
Assist with the transportation of animals within the facility as needed.
Assist with the maintenance and repair of animal enclosures, equipment, and facilities.
Educate visitors about the animals in our care, their habitats, and conservation efforts.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the wellbeing of both animals and humans.
Perform other duties as assigned by senior staff or management.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with animals in a zoo, sanctuary, or similar setting preferred.
Passion for animal welfare and conservation.
Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from senior staff.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic knowledge of animal behavior, husbandry practices, and safety protocols.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work outdoors for extended periods.
Must be legally eligible to work in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
