    About the Role:
    We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing and Insurance Coordinator to join our team.

    This person will be responsible for managing all aspects of billing, insurance processing, verifying patient insurance coverage, submitting insurance claims, following up on outstanding claims, addressing billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies and making the right entries in our books of accounts.


    Job Responsibilities:
    Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments.
    Submit accurate and timely insurance claims for services rendered.
    Follow up on unpaid claims and resubmit claims as necessary.
    Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim rejections, denials, and discrepancies.
    Review patient accounts for accuracy and address any billing discrepancies.
    Assist patients with understanding their insurance coverage, benefits, and financial responsibilities.
    Coordinate payment plans and financial assistance programs for patients as needed.
    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations and billing procedures.
    Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure proper documentation and coding of medical services.
    Provide excellent customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries and concerns.


    Requirements Qualifications and Skills:
    Prior Emergency Department experience is a must.

    Excellent communication skills, professional customer service, resourceful and motivated. The ability to be flexible is required for working different shifts, including weekends. Must be detail oriented and a multi-tasker. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance card terminologies. Data entry with strong attention to detail.
