    Description


    The Sprouse laboratory in the Program inPsychology in the Division of Science, New York University AbuDhabi seeks to recruit a research assistant to work on themechanisms underlying the syntax of humanlanguages.

    The successful applicant will workclosely with the PI on a project on the syntactic structure ofEgyptian Arabi. The project will explore both the grammar andprocessing of long-distance dependencies in Egyptian Arabic (amongother phenomena).

    The successful applicant will work with the PI todesign the experiments, develop the language materials, recruitparticipants (native speakers of Egyptian Arabic), analyze theresults, and prepare publications.

    The candidate will also workwith the PI and other members of the lab on any associatedadministrative tasks that help facilitate theproject.


    Applicants must have completed a BAin Psychology at NYUAD, and have taken PSYCH-UH 2218 LanguageScience and PSYCH-UH 3612EQ Lab in Language Science.

    Excellentexperimental and syntactic analysis skills are required. Native ornear-native like ability in Egyptian Arabic isrequired.
