Description
Responsible for planning, implementing, managing and operating all the finance and accounting activities, including business planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Provides highly responsible and complex financial and business decision guidance. Works in close cooperation with the CEO to develop and execute mission-critical objectives.

  • Consistently execute the Company's financial strategy.
  • Maintain accountability for financial performance and establish interdepartmental tracking and reporting mechanisms to maximise revenues and cost efficiencies.
  • Develop plans for growth to increase company profit while also reducing expenditure.
  • Identify investment opportunities and manage mergers and acquisitions.
  • Assist the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to develop financial plans.
  • Develop, analyse and manage accounting procedures.
  • Manage cash flow and banking accounts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
  • Define and drive the performance framework and metrics for the function (P&L statements, Balance Sheets, MIS reports, etc.) with the stakeholders of the group companies.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, Companies Act, etc.
  • Coordinate with group companies to ensure the timely audit of the consolidated financials of the group.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for the group.
  • Monitor and oversee monthly closure of books of accounts.
  • Ensure reconciliations of accounts receivables/payables/headcount, etc.
  • Ensure monthend closure entries are appropriately recognised.
  • Prepare quarterly schedules for the limited review.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely closure of the audited financials.
  • Manage all queries, information requests and clarifications on financial accounting matters sought by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist leadership group in significant transactions in terms of acquisition, restructuring, working capital adjustments on account of merger, etc.
  • Provide technical guidance on specific transactions entered into by the Company.
  • Ensure Tax Audit information for the group companies' tax assessments (Direct and indirect tax).
  • Oversee and coach team members regarding daytoday work requirements, accounting standards, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified Accountant with a Business Management backgroun (CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent)
  • At least 10 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, international trading, treasury and regulatory matters
  • Must have a working knowledge of IFRS reporting standards, and West Africa's Reporting and Taxation System would be an added advantage.
  • Must have a high level of written and oral communication skills in English (French is an added advantage)
  • Handson experience in Financial Reporting and consolidation
  • Working knowledge of aviation market and industry standards
  • Working knowledge of company law requirements
  • Working knowledge of ERP (Odoo) and MS Office Suites

  • Dubai: Relocate before starting work (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 75% (preferred)
