Risk Management lead for Region

  • Responsible for leading the implementation of ACWA Power Risk Management process at Regional level.
  • Provide input for the development and enhancement of the Risk Management processes and systems across the Region, and support their implementation.
  • Provide support and mentorship to all regional entities in order to develop a risk culture and embed Risk Management at regional level and in all the Project Companies and O&M Companies.
  • Contribute to the development and ensure operational leadership of the Project Risk Management process on all the projects from development phase to operations.
  • Identify and train risk champions across each relevant entity to build a risk culture at all levels of the organisation.
  • Lead Risk Management workshops, where required, to ensure that relevant risks are identified and assessed, and mitigation plans are built and implemented, ensuring critical risks are managed in a planned and structured manner.
  • Contribute to risk analyses on projects in close relation with the Project Companies and O&M Companies risk champions and Management.
  • Assist in the development of risk responses in conjunction with risk owners and risk champions.
  • Followup and support regional functions heads, Project Companies and O&M Companies Management on the implementation of Risk Management.
  • Create risk reports that convey the results of risk analyses performed, and ensure timely escalation of most critical risks at regional and corporate level.
  • Develop a Portfolio Risk Management approach at regional level, perform required analyses and report accordingly to regional Management and Corporate ERM function.

ESG/Sustainability Support

  • Provide regional support in the implementation and maintenance of the sustainability framework of ACWA Power, via coordination of gathering relevant internal ESG intelligence from the region and project companies.
  • Support the Sustainability Function in development and management of the internal Network Sustainability Champions.
  • Raise awareness of the importance of sustainability/ESG with the regional management, Project Companies, and the Operational Entities.

Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures

  • Implement approved policies, processes, and procedures, and ensure adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard Ensure adequate use of the integrated
  • Administer GRC Tool at regional level, and in all Project Companies and O&M Companies, and ensure adequacy and integrity of data.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute in the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes, and projects in line with the organisation's standards.
  • Keep abreast of the latest regulations and leading practices in the field and evaluate their relevance and from an ACWA Power perspective.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Management from a reputed university or school

Minimum Experience:


  • 810 years' experience post qualification, including at least 4years' experience of risk management with strong hands on practice.
  • Knowhow of project and assets risk management, encompassing project execution, operations and maintenance.
  • Experience in a similar industry highly desirable.
  • Strong Project Management and multitasking skills.
