Woodis currently recruiting for an Tank Rigger / Erector with extensiveexperience in the Oil, Gas and Chemicalindustry.

Purpose /Role

• Todeliver a high quality, consistent and competent platingconstruction service in accordance with project / companyrequirements, standards and procedures.
• Tosupport overall delivery of company goals andschedule.
• To ensure all that all workscope iscompleted in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact topersonnel, fabric or environment
  

Responsibilities

Primeduties and Responsibilities

• Slinging materials for moving aroundinside and outside of tank at groundlevel
• Slinging materials for lifting over shellonto roof (floating or fixed)
• Safe erection,use and dismantling of tank staging
• Safeerection, use and dismantling of tankjacks
• Safe use of blocks, shackles, tirforspull lifts and winches.
• Loading and unloadingwagons
• Use of rigging/ slinging techniques forhandling materials, shell plates, floor plates, roof plates, Roofstructures
• Safe erection of all types of tankfloors, shell and roofs.
• Fairing up of shellsto achieve required verticality and roundness as defined byallowable tolerances in EN14015
• Use of erectionaids (shims, carrots, nuts, wedges, keywaysetc)
• Recognition and use of cranes, erection,positioning, capacities and signals.
• Use ofmobile lifting equipment, forklifts,hydraulics.
• Maintaining and checking own smalltools and equipment
• An understanding of thestatutory lifting regulations.
• Prepare site forrigging and lifting operations
• Conduct pre-useinspections and maintainequipment
• Understanding of development of basiclifting plans
• Working to approved methodstatement.
• Safe removal of tank roofs, shelland ancillary components.
• Work in hazardousareas under 'permit to work'system.
• Working atheights
• Working in confinedspaces.
• Must stop any work that is consideredto be unsafe
• Must put own safety and those ofcolleagues first
• Must start work only afterassessing the risks
