Job PurposeAccountable for the safe, effective, and efficient utilization of physical and human resources employed in all fabrication/construction related project activities in accordance with the contract and Company Management System.

Joining a new established company, the applicant will be initially focused on establishing the department's functional objectives, strategies, plans and procedures for new commercial ships, the building of jack-up rigs and/or Maintenance that repair & overhaul of rigs and ships.

Key Accountabilities

Welding Production management:
Monitoring productivity of all fit-up and welding activities in shipbuilding and rig construction including subcontractors' production and ensuring timely completion of works fulfilling quality and safety

Collaborating with other departments/zones:
Develop and implement new processes, systems, and procedures that continually increase efficiency and productivity

Planning for fit-up/welding:
Developing a clear production execution strategy and plan for fit-up/welding, load analysis, block transportation/arrangement, and manpower. Planning and monitoring materials for fit-up/welding and consumables for the project in advance.


HSE Management:
Ensuring that all fit-up/welding and inspection activities are executed safely in compliance with HSE standards/procedures and TDS/MSDS of paint material

Resource Management:
Allocating and managing manpower and resources for fit-up and welding work, monitoring actual asset costs/man-hours against budgeted costs/man-hours and take corrective action for overruns

Space Planning:
Planning and managing the use of movable shelters and work area based on current project requirements and potential project awards

Training for fit-up/welding:
Preparing work procedures and instructions for all fit-up/welding activities required for shipbuilding and rig projects. Preparing fit-up/welding training materials for workers and production managers and conducting appropriate training regularly.

Qualifications & ExperienceEducation:
Bachelor's Degree in shipbuilding or Mechanical engineering or equivalent

Professional Qualifications:
Experience working in a block pre-erection using transporter, welding for steel plate, and inspection in shipyards

Experience:
3-9 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding

Languages:
Fluent in English (speaking, writing and reading)Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Knowledge for how to read drawings and production processes at a professional level.
Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholders within the organization.
Ability to swiftly resolve production issues.
Leadership and management skills for handling various situations.
