ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Some of the responsibilities you may be asked to take on include:

  • Work directly with the Resident Engineer in managing the project contracts and project budget.
  • Review the interim payment certificate submitted by the Contractors and make recommendations.
  • Prepare the budget control and forecast project costs.
  • Analyze costs, review quotes, and review suppliers for the project contracts.
  • Prepare the monthly cost and status reports.
  • Perform contract administration.
  • Assist the client's legal team with evaluating claims for Contractors.
  • Oversee the variation/change order management process.
  • Supervise the Quantity Surveyors.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or other related degree. (required)
  • Professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or similar. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in contract administration, project controls, quantity surveying, and procurement for civil, marine, and/or coastal construction projects.
  • Experience with FIDIC 1999 Conditions of Contract, Bill of Quantities General Requirements (POMI), RICS New Rules of Measurement (NRM), CESMM 3 and other international methods of measurements. (required)
  • Proficient in estimation of works. (required)
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment. (required)
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, CAD Measure (CATO), and estimating and cost management software. (required)
  • Detailed understanding of cost control and procurement strategy for civil construction projects. (required)
  • Working knowledge of Primavera. (preferred)
