Key duties and responsibilities of a quantity surveyor include studying tender drawings specifications BOQs and contract documents understanding project scope and requirements performing detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and models architectural structural civil and MEP as required preparing quantity summaries measurement sheets standard methods of measurement assisting preparation Bills Quantities BOQ where required supporting Estimation Team cost planning pricing tender items sending inquiries suppliers subcontractors following obtain competitive quotations analyzing subcontractor supplier quotations preparing comparison statements identifying scope gaps inconsistencies risks highlighting Tender Manager participating value engineering cost optimization proposals during tender stage preparing clarifications qualifications included tender submission maintaining proper documentation records measurements assumptions pricing bases assisting preparation cash flow forecasts preliminary project budgets during tender stage providing post-tender negotiations breakdowns when required coordinating with planning engineering procurement teams ensure accurate pricing input.
