As a Senior Pipeline Engineer, you will provide critical technical expertise to the operations of our plants and pipelines, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of projects.

With 10 years of experience in pipeline engineering, including 8 years in the oil and gas industry, you will lead teams and provide guidance on all aspects of pipeline design, construction, and operation. Your expertise will be essential in implementing project phases, participating in peer reviews, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements and good engineering practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and direct a team of engineers and technicians to progress pipeline engineering work efficiently, maintaining schedules while ensuring quality in accordance with contract requirements and good engineering practices.
• Provide technical input to decision-making processes for major/strategic decisions affecting pipeline selection and procurement.
• Review and approve drawings, specifications, data sheets, and other technical documents related to pipeline engineering across all project stages.
• Serve as Technical Authority and responsible person to review and approve Design Change Authorization (DCA) requests, deviations from standard practices or codes, and Contract Trend Notices (CTN) on piping/pipeline-related issues.
• Establish performance measures and Personal Development Plans (PDPs) for team members, identifying training needs and work opportunities to close performance gaps.
• Ensure effective implementation of Company health, safety, and environmental policy, procedures, regulations, and objectives. Conduct all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry practices and technological products, evaluating new technologies and introducing international best practices.
• Participate in developing and managing Division annual budgets and preparing yearly overhead budgets for the department.
• Provide Subject Matter Expert support for company competency evaluation programs and inter-OPCO/ADNOC developments.
• Lead investigations into technical and commercial aspects of project work related to piping/pipeline systems and plants.
• Maintain and update ADNOC technical specifications and guidelines for piping/pipeline-related activities and materials.
• Participate in various project workshops, including design reviews, plot plan reviews, 3D model reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, PHSSER, constructability reviews, material handling study reviews, risk assessment reviews, and value engineering reviews.
• Screen CVs and participate in interviews for selecting candidates for key project positions, such as Lead Discipline Engineers for contractors/consultants and PMC/third-party consultants.
• Provide peer review for all piping/pipeline-related studies and modifications carried out by Asset Engineering or Pre-Project teams.
• Review and endorse tender and contract documents related to piping/pipeline projects.
• Participate in or lead factory acceptance tests and conclude the acceptance of critical piping/pipeline components and major packages.

MANAGEMENT

• Plan and supervise the activities of personnel and resources to achieve Department objectives efficiently and cost-consciously.
• Develop knowledge, competencies, and innovative spirit within the Team, supporting establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDPs), Succession Planning, and Talent pipeline coordination with the Human Capability Group.

BUDGETS AND OPERATIONAL PLANS

• Compile and provide input for preparation of Department budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved Team budget levels.
• Investigate, highlight, and reconcile significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.
• Lead implementation of approved Team policies, processes, systems, Quality standards, procedures, and internal controls to support execution of Division work programs according to Company and International standards.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

• Implement Company Performance Management System for individuals within the Team according to Company-approved guidelines and continuously monitor achievement of Team KPIs related to approved Annual Performance Management Contract and Balanced Score Card.

ORGANISATION STRUCTURE AND DEVELOPMENT

• Review, develop, and recommend appropriate organisation structure for the Team to best utilise human capital, proactively incorporating sustainability into ongoing work practices to meet business objectives.

INNOVATION AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

• Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation, and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services.
• Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Team.

HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT (HSE) AND SUSTAINABILITY

• Support institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems & controls, and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Team in line with international standards, best practices, and ADNOC Code of Practices/HSE standards.
• Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Team employees to meet HSE standards.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

• Report to Manager Technical Support Eng.
• Regular contacts with engineers and TLs within the Technical Centre to discuss key issues, project activities, and respective discipline involvement and contribution.
• Regular contacts with Team Leaders from other divisions to exchange information/expertise and coordination.
• Regular contacts with Project Managers, leaders, and Project Engineering Team Leaders to ensure engineering quality and timely support to running activities.
• Frequent communications with Senior Management through Manager Technical Support.
• Work according to Company's established procedures and technical standards. Refer problems to Manager Technical Support.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• BACHELOR DEGREE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• 10 years of experience in engineering of pipeline (Subsea & Onshore) including 8 years in the oil and gas industry.
• Minimum of 3 years as Senior Pipeline Engineer.
