Position:
Sous Chef (Italian Cuisine)

Location: DIFC, Dubai, UAE

Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and supervising the daytoday operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth execution of all culinary activities.
  • Prepare, cook, and present Italian dishes according to established recipes and quality standards, while adding your personal touch to elevate the dining experience.
  • Oversee and manage the kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure consistent quality and efficient operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards set by local health authorities.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create new dishes, menus, and specials, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
  • Monitor food inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize wastage and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Uphold a high level of food quality and presentation, paying attention to detail and addressing any guest feedback or concerns promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations in the kitchen, promoting a safe and positive work environment for all team members.
  • Participate in menu planning, development, and execution for special events, promotions, and catering opportunities.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and new cooking techniques, sharing knowledge and inspiration with the culinary team.

Qualifications:


  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Sous Chef in an Italian cuisinefocused establishment.
  • Proficiency in speaking Italian is essential for effective communication with the culinary team and ensuring the authenticity of Italian dishes.
  • Solid knowledge of Italian culinary techniques, ingredients, and traditions.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a diverse kitchen team.
  • Creativity and innovation in developing new dishes and concepts while honoring Italian culinary authenticity.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a highpressure kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
