    • Provides and monitor direct andindirect patient care to achieve optimum patientoutcome.
    • Assumes accountability andresponsibility for own practice and does not carry out tasks beyondlevel of competence.
    • Incorporates the religiousand cultural needs of the patient in their individualized care andincludes input from family members.
    • Coordinatesindividualized care from point of first contact throughout theepisode of care, incorporating dischargeplanning.
    • Maintaining timely and accuratenursing records and ensure that confidentiality isrespected.
    • Maintaining personal contact withpatients and relative being sensitive to their needs for courtesy,dignity, privacy and always ensuring friendlyenvironment.
    • Independently evaluates, plans,and implements individualized care plans for patients and assistsjunior staff with this process.
    • Documents allassessments, interventions, and other pertinent information in thepatient's health care record in a timely and ongoingmanner.
    • Aware of the role of audit andresearch, can maintain an effective audit trail and work towardscontinual improvement in quality assuranceprogram.
    • Demonstrates service excellence andacts as a patient advocate to always support thepatient's rights and dignity.
    • Ensuresall equipment and resources are maintained and used, economicallyand efficiently.
    • Promptly reports to NurseManager Unit/ Charge nurse/ Team Leader and assists ininvestigating complaints and incidents in relation to patient carein accordance with Hospital Policy.
    • Coordinatesreferrals and utilizes available resources for the provision ofcomprehensive care to patients andfamilies.
    • Perform antenatal training for theexpected mother and family.
    • Promotes andutilizes evidence-based practice in the provision ofcare.
    • Facilitates a climate of mutualunderstanding, and appreciation of cross-cultural differencesinherent in a multiculturalsociety.
    • Administers medications according toorganization policies andprocedures.
    • Understands actions of medicationand contraindications, evaluates patient's response,identifies side effects, and initiates appropriateaction.
    • Report adverse Drug reactions andmedication errors as per DOH/DHAregulations.
    • Ensure the storage andadministration of narcotic and controlled drugs is in accordancewith DOH/DHA Narcotic policies and procedures as per the arearequirements.
