CommissioningSpecialist (PTW Coordinator)

• Responsible for start-up and plantoperations activities including equipment and system checkout,inspection for proper installation, review for correct design, andcalculation of expected system and equipment operating parametersunder temporary start-up conditions. Coordinates start-upoperations, including the direction of craft, and all otherstart-up activities such as flushing, chemical cleaning, andinitial equipment and system operation. Coordinates performancetests and calculates test results and heat balances. Performscalculations required to properly evaluate design changes, providesengineering reports for the engineering department to assist indesign change preparation. Works with client at the site. Undergeneral supervision, performs all conventional aspects of thefunctional area subject matter. Devises new approaches to problemsencountered. Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgmentin the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation ofengineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs workwhich involves conventional engineering practice but may include avariety of complex features such as conflicting designrequirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, anddifficult coordination requirements. Provides technical guidance todesigners and less experienced engineers. Job tasks, correctlyperformed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency,profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired throughan undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 yearsrelated experience, with average experience ranging from 6-10years.
• Acting as the point of contact for allPTW related activities providingoversight,
• Ensuring consistency with thepreparation of PTW packages,
• Obtaining sitemanagement approvals where applicable
• Activelyparticipate in the SIMOPS program
• Providingguidance / clarification for all aspects involving planned workwithin his/her area ofresponsibility.
• Understanding of Electronicpermit to work system.
