We are inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in Economics. The appointment will begin September 1, 2024, subject to final budget approval. The appointment will last 1-3 years.

The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half of their time on collaborative research with Professor Wifag Adnan. The collaborative research will fall under the general field of Applied Microeconomics with a range of topics including inequality, market power, immigration, race, identity, illicit behavior and misinformation. Collaborators on ongoing projects include Cevat Aksoy, Bedoor AlShebli, Luis Baldomero, Haggay Etkes, Veda Narasimhan, Jordan Norris, Jonathon Zhang, and Angela Zheng.

We seek a candidate whose fields of specialization include Labor/Public/Political Economy and who is interested in developed and developing economy settings. Advanced training in statistical packages, econometrics and programming is essential and a robust understanding of economic theory and modelling is welcome.

The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. You would be part of a group of over 20 post-doctoral fellows and 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science.
