    About TheRole

    The Facility Manager isresponsible for all localized activities at our Material Processingand Transportation Facility, including but not limited to solidwaste processing, shredding, transportation, and industrialservices. Accountable for the profitability and efficiency of allfacility operations while maintaining a safe work site andcomplying with regulatory agencies. Expected to provide strongleadership to employees within the facility to maximizeoperations.

    Duties &Responsibilities:

    • Develop maintain, and promote anelite workplace quality, performance, appearance, andeffectiveness, emphasizing safety and environmentalcompliance.
    • Set clear expectations, lead,coordinate, train, and direct plant employees on initiatives fromCorporate and Divisional leaders.
    • Lead siteoperations to consistently meet or exceed business objectives andAnnual Operating Plan targets.
    • Developlong-term maintenance, staffing, operational and budgetaryplans.
    • Develop and execute strategy for thesite to increase operational discipline/accountability,productivity, quality, reliability, employee engagement andretention.
    • Champion use of Six Sigma/Lean toolsin driving facility improvement to develop and implement strategicinitiatives relative to inventory, capacity utilization and growthopportunities to deliver business results and drive maturity beyondcurrent level.
    • Drive cultural change,accountability, and continuous improvement mindset throughout theorganization.
    • Ensuring all preventativemaintenance obligations are consistently met and ensure that thefacility is audit ready.
    • Effectivelycommunicate and coordinate with our other Covanta locations dailyto support our sales team, operations, and the needs of ourclients.
    • Build positive working relationshipswithin the global organization and serve as point-of-contact forbroader Company initiatives.
    • Work with localauthorities and agencies to ensure compliance while completing andsubmitting required reports as needed.
    • AnalyzeKPI's for facility budget requirements, sales, andactivity reports, and other performance data to measureproductivity and goal achievement while identifying areas in whichcost reductions and program improvements can bemade.
    • Successfully manage employee performancewhile mentoring and guiding the overall growth of thefacility.
    • Represent Covanta in localgovernment, community, and industry groups.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in civil,environmental, or industrial engineering, or a closely relatedfield, including (5) years of supervisoryexperience.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressivemanufacturing or transportation experience, ideally with materialhandling.
    • Proven leadership skills as a teamplayer/builder and a driver of value-addedresults.
    • In-depth knowledge of manufacturingoperations, project planning, cost control and programmanagement.
    • Ability drive Safety and Complianceprograms.
    • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills, with demonstrated ability to influence othersand interact effectively with all levels of theorganization.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word,Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Ability toanalyze information, find solutions and makeimprovements.
    • Demonstrated attention to detailand possess strong time managementskills.
    • Ability to work closely with clientsand sales to create solutions.
    • Background inEnvironmental Services, Wastewater, HAZMAT, Transportation,Industrial Services, Waste to Energy, Liquid/Solids processing, andRegulatory Compliance is preferred.
    • Knowledgeof hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste isbeneficial.
