Our client is a vegetable bulk commodity trader and sea vessel logistics operator and owner.

We procure our commodities (corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, etc.) from world-wide origins such as Latin America, North A merica, Europe, and Asia.

Postfix Senior Freight Operator

Experience: 10 to 15 years with a charterer and/or freight operator with exposure to grain cargos

Job description:

• The position as an operator will cover all post-fix responsibilities for the vessel's performance in a safe and efficient manner on a day-to-day basis.(TC and VC)
• Execute and Handle Shipments for various types of grain commodities, such as wheat, corn, soybeans, and others.
• Ensure that all CPs are executed correctly, in compliance with regulatory requirements and as per the CP terms and Conditions
• Coordinate the logistics with our internal departments on the commercial aspects as well as on a more practical level with the master of the vessel.
• Hold post-fix communication with owners.
• Coordinate with various service providers such as agents, owners, bunker suppliers, and weather routing companies, amongst others that will be involved in each vessel's voyage.
• Freight, laytime, and voyage calculations: Analyze dynamic voyage financial performance for assigned voyages using a voyage handling system. (Software)
• Finalize voyage accounting with all the departments and timely close files with owners/service providers.
• Maintain accurate records of all CPs, contracts, and other documentation.

Professional experience and requirements:

Good knowledge and experience covering :

• Prior experience in Dry bulk cargo vessel operations for at least 8 years
• CP (VC/TC) terms, their implications and obligations.
• Bunker planning and execution for voyages
• Knowledge of Vessel Insurance, PNI, and legal matters.
• Good understanding of weather routing services and their daily usage in post-fix operations.
• Use of voyage handling systems like softmar and use of same for reporting financial outcome for the voyage (during and upon completion)
• Experience in South American, European, and black sea port handling.
• Good understanding of analysing and establishing stowage plans.
• Ability to communicate effectively with owners , master , agents and all other service providers.
• Very strong experience and understanding of SOF, Laytime and other related matters.
• Financially and analytically inclined for post fix financial analysis of voyages and reporting the same to the chartering manager, finance controller along with ability to provide suggestions and solutions at the operating level to improve the financial performance of each voyage.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Ensure that all trade-related documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, Phytosanitary certificates, and other important documents, are accurately prepared and issued.
• Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements at the origin and destination. Documents at load port to be issued keeping in view of that.
