Minimum:
B.E/B.Tech Mechanical, DME


Minimum: 5 to 8 years' supervisory experience in similar industry

Preferred:
STEEL PROFILE ROLLING MILL EXPERIENCE. ( sheet metal profiles)


Job Description/ Job Summary
Role Purpose
Planning and Execution of profile mill production and profile welding.
Production Execution

  • Execute as per work orders and coordinate with multiple section heads.
  • Evaluate any resource (equipment, manpower, etc.) or quality issues and coordinate with senior management and/or other teams for resolution.
  • Monitor the daily production and handle any changes (day to day or shift wise) to execution schedules.
  • Monitor and minimize scrap generation, in line with quality standards and required cost efficiencies.
Production MIS

  • Review and analyze the regular reports (Production planning reports, shift wise production reports, incident reports, breakdown reports, etc. as per ERP and process requirements), to further consolidate the data and present it to senior management for decision making.
  • Develop action plans as per any discrepancies in data or senior management instructions.
Maintenance Coordination

  • Monitor the planning and execution of downtime and preventive maintenance plans.
  • Get involved in major issues for resolution or escalation/collaboration to senior management and/or other teams.
Specialized machinery and Upgradation of Machinery

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Design teams in line with sales and marketing insights, suggestions from internal teams and/or strategic direction of company.
  • Detail out the implementation planning of machine upgrades or specialized machinery and monitor the implementation.
Client Discussions

  • Participate in crossfunctional and client discussions as required by Sales and Marketing team, related to product specifications or any other client requirements.
Optimization Projects

  • Have periodic discussion with supervisor and operators on possible areas of optimization, including modification of manufacturing process, productivity improvements, lead time decrease, etc.
  • Plan and monitor the execution of the approved optimization projects and provide regular updates to senior management.
New Product Development

  • Participate in planning and provide insights through practical knowledge of process and product.
  • Coordinate with the team for deputation of manpower for approved projects or initiatives and support the requirement for prototypes or trial runs and coordination.
Goods Transfer

  • Monitor and own the process for transferring both finished and partially processed material as per below:
  • If in charge of the given work order
  • transfer and monitor the overall flow through multiple sections till finished goods area.
  • If in charge of a step of the work order (other than first or last steps) ensure to transfer to next section as per committed timeline.
Client Interactions and Prioritization

  • Support senior management with inputs on feasibility and costeffectiveness, in case of any daytoday changes in priorities or requirements by clients.
Final Loading Plan

  • Support senior management with inputs on changes to shift wise production plans in line with changes in final loading plans, in case of client changes or internal constraints.
  • Incorporate and implement the changes to shift wise production plans, in line with changes in final loading plan and composition of finished products.
Budgets and plans

  • Adhere to departmental budgets and ensure optimal utilization of all available resources.

  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, and procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Contribute to costefficient usage of all applicable resources to reduce wastage and unnecessary expense.

  • Organize and supervise the activities and work of direct reports to ensure that all work within a specific team is completed to the required standards and in line with organization's operating policies and procedures.

  • Manage the team by overseeing their performance management, recruitment, training and development to ensure high levels of engagement and competence.
