- Provides direct care to assignedpatients.
- Takes the nursing history, summarizesdata, and states nursing diagnoses/ patient careneeds.
- Observes and records signs, symptoms,and behaviours, including the physiological status of patients;presents the assessment of changes, the proposed revision ofinterventions, and desired outcomes.
- Integratesnursing interventions into the multidisciplinary plan of care,incorporating appropriate standards of care and practice andpatient outcomes.
- Executes physician'sorders for all assigned patients; safely and properly administersmedications and treatments.
- Implements safe,competent, and efficient patient care within policies, proceduresand standards, and interventions as noted on the multidisciplinaryplan of care.
- Documents the nursing process toreflect a comprehensive and integrated approach to patientcare.
- Evaluates patient's responsesto care based on effectiveness of nursing interventions/actions inrelationship to established outcomes and consults with MedicalStaff regarding clinical variances and recommended changes to theplan of care.
- Identifies learning needs ofpatients/families and teaches by adapting standard information toprovide individualized and comprehensive teaching-learning.Utilizes the resources of the Teaching-Learning Center asappropriate to meet identified patient, family and/or caregiverneeds.
