The Schedule PlanningController will be responsible for monitoring trackingand identifying areas of key operational constraints and providesupport to produce a balanced schedule. The successful candidatewill participate and provide professional support to ScheduleDevelopment and Slots Portfolio Manager in slot negotiations at allairports across the EK network. They will also develop an Emiratesmarketing flight schedule through continuous networking withEmirates codeshare partner airlines

Inthis role you will:

• Analyse and recommend suitable deployment of aircraft androutings to yield best economic results and operationalfeasibility. Based on the commercial objectives determine the rightfrequency pattern and aircraft type for all EK routes to assistSchedule Planning management team in implementing a profitableOperating Plan.
• Liaise with Crew Planningdepartment at all stages of schedule preparation and provide inputsto design a crew optimal Operating Plan. Consider crew availabilityconstraints and flight duty hours set by the UAE aeronauticalauthorities as flight timings day of operation aircraft type andflight routings have a direct impact on crew costs.
• Coordinate with the Engineering Department on a regularbasis to integrate the planned schedules with the aircraft heavymaintenance plan. Ensure that the aircraft rotations providesufficient ground time to carry out mandatory maintenance checksand comply with available airport infrastructure.
• Participate actively in airport slots negotiations withSchedule Development and Slots Portfolio Manager. Provideprofessional support during the slot allocation process which iscritical to these negotiations and vital for securing the desiredarrival/departure times for EK flights failing which the plannedoperations could be seriously jeopardised resulting in immenserevenue loss to the company.
• Coordinate withInternational Affairs section to determine EKs entitlements withregards to frequencies capacities aircraft types and route rightsto explore opportunities for expanding EKs network. In case ofconflict between the entitlements and the planned schedules suggestoptions to Manager Network Schedules and Slots Management.
• Coordinate with local EK offices/CivilAviation authorities across the EK network to secure Civil Aviationlanding rights for all EK operating and marketing flights. Ensureall applications to secure these rights comply with each countrysunique application formats and bilateral entitlements. Ensure alllanding permits are updated with ongoing schedule changes.
• Engage with partner airlines to identifyrequirements/issues in order to agree and execute Codeshare process(e.g. schedule testing publishing in systems weekly change updatesetc.). Ensure synchronisation and connectivity of codeshareschedules to ensure Emirates is leveraging opportunities tomaximize connections and revenues there of.
• Suggest ways to expand the extensive connectivity optionsbetween EK flights at Dubai in order to fully exploit the sixthfreedom traffic potential which is an important component of EKstotal revenue generation. This exercise will also in turn help thedevelopment of Dubai as a strong aviation hub in the region.
• Independently administer scheduledistribution data flow to :
  • major stakeholdersystems within the company (e.g. MARS CORE POWER RAPID TARGET
    SCHEDULE REPOSITORY and CONNECTION BUILDER) and have acomplete understanding of the
    backend systems used toadminister the data flow of these systems.
  • OAG Cirium and GDSs worldwide and ensure schedule minimumconnecting time (MCT) and
    subsequent schedule changesare timely communicated so that EK schedules are displayedaccurately in
    all above systems.
  • codeshare partners need to be updated with the latestMarketing schedules to ensure schedule
    synchronisation.
• Evaluate furtherenhancement in the automation of the schedule planning system andrecommend customisation and functionality modifications to upgradeefficiency and accuracy of systems used (e.g. Schedule PlanningSchedule Repository Schedule Distribution Connection Builderetc.).

Qualifications & Experience: To beconsidered for this role you must meet the below requirements:

• Bachelors Degree orHonours with 5 years experience in Commerical/ Sales/ RoutePlanning
• Experience in Schedule Planning /Route Planning / Commerical / Sales / Reservations / Operations
• Sound knowledge of Flight Scheduling skillsand methods.
• Indepth knowledge of IATA SSIMchapter 4 Standard Schedules and Message procedures.
• Indepth knowledge of IATA SSIM chapter 6 AirportCoordination/Advice procedures.
• Indepthknowledge of IATA SSIM chapter 7 Presentation and transfer ofschedule data set.
• Indepth knowledge of IATASSIM chapter 8 Presentation Application and transfer of MinimumConnecting Time (MCT) Data
• Knowledge of IATASchedule coordination procedures.
• Ability andSkills: Proven ability to work independently with minimum amount ofsupervision. Strong communication and negotiating skills (bothwritten and spoken skills). Excellent computer skills to use thescheduling system.
