*Job Description:
As a Sous Chef at White Hospitality, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and delivering high-quality dishes that delight our guests.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will be responsible for upholding the standards of excellence in food preparation, execution, and presentation, specifically focusing on Korean BBQ specialties.
*Responsibilities:- Assist the Head Chef in menu development, recipe creation, and kitchen operations planning, with a focus on Korean BBQ dishes.
- Oversee and participate in the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of meats, seafood, and vegetables on the grill.
- Ensure that food quality, freshness, and presentation meet our standards and exceed guest expectations.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper grilling techniques, portion control, and food safety procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to innovate new Korean BBQ recipes and seasonal specials.
- Uphold sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen, following health guidelines and local health regulations.
- Assist in scheduling and managing kitchen staff, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Act as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and culinary excellence in the kitchen.
- Stay updated on industry trends, Korean cuisine developments, and customer preferences to continually enhance our menu offerings.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior line cook in a high-volume restaurant, preferably with expertise in Korean cuisine or BBQ.
- Strong knowledge of Korean BBQ cooking techniques, marinades, and traditional Korean flavors.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure.
- Certification in food safety and sanitation (ServSafe or equivalent) is preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Culinary degree or equivalent work experience preferred but not required.
