    Gentis Solutions is seeking an Engineering Team Manager for a direct hire full-time position with one of our clients.

    RequirementsA minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in electrical and/or mechanical rolesA minimum of 2 years of experience in a management or supervisory level within an automated environmentA bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant field of study; or an associates degree coupled with an additional 2 years of relevant experience in an electrical and/or mechanical profession, preferably gained in an FMCG background; or an additional 2 years of relevant experience in an electrical and/or mechanical profession, preferably gained in an FMCG backgroundGood technical ability relating to automation hardware and softwareGood organizational ability and the ability to plan and prioritizeSound analytical skills with an eye for detail; good problem-solving ability and a practical approachComprehensive understanding of production, picking and storage MHE systems, gained from experience in an automated environmentExperience in an FMCG environmentExperience working with computerized maintenance management systemsThe ability to really engage and enthuse a diverse team in a time-constrained environmentNumerate and PC literate including Word, Excel, etc.

    Ability to lead from the front, driving pace accuracy and standardsThis role will require flexibility due to us being a 24/7 operation and a shift pattern will be put in place that will require working days, nights and weekendsTypical DutiesCreate and promote a safe work culture by being a champion of safe work practicesMonitor and report daily engineering KPIs, including fault reduction and eliminationPerformance management, development and training of the team; daily direct personnel management responsibilityLead a proactive customer-focused cultureDrive and support change initiatives for MHE equipment and process improvementBuild collaborative relationships with key customers and robust communication linksSupport daily objective/corrective actions defined during daily safety meetings led by the engineering operationsLead daily safety meetings, creating or implementing any needed risk assessments to complete planned workAlign, priorities and monitor KPIs that support the Customers optimized service for its end customer/clientsPerformance management, development and training of the team; daily direct personnel management responsibilityWorking closely with Customers' Inbound, Pick, Dispatch areas, and other support teams on a daily basis to ensure direction of labor, and planned engineering activities to fully support assets and the Customers' daily operational goalsChampion safe working practices with expedited investigations and corrective actionsSupport the Engineering Operations Manager and the HR Team to ensure employee recognition & discipline (including documenting and resolving policy violations, conducting performance and holding probation review meetings)

    Day-to-day leadership of team members, including prioritization and allocation of workload; deploying labor based on the demands and requirements of the task against the competency and capability of resourceResponsible for personnel management including:

    time and attendance, time-off requests, establishing and reviewing goals and objectives, general mentoring, driving accountability and assigning daily prioritiesDevelop effective customer relationships to facilitate communication and execution to ensure that the customers deliverables are successfully achievedBe proactive in the development of team members; advise, lead and motivate team members, assess capability, identify and resolve training / skill requirements; be involved in disciplinary issuesAssessment of engineering team skills and assisting in upskilling and training of staff, including integration of first line maintenance of plant and equipment.
