- Oversee recruitment, selection, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance evaluation of restaurant staff. Address disciplinary issues, communicate job expectations, and monitor work performance to achieve HR objectives
- Document staff performance issues using accountability records and contribute to performance evaluations
- Manage and review time-off requests, submit vacation requests for approval, and ensure proper coverage
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures across all operations
- Create and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain operational consistency
- Assist in managing staffing needs by finding replacements or filling in for missed or vacant shifts as necessary
- Serve as a resource for staff, acting as a liaison during emergencies and providing guidance and support as needed
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships among staff, encouraging teamwork and collaboration
- Follow up on staff-related issues, addressing concerns and finding solutions to maintain a harmonious work environment
- Conduct regular spot checks of the restaurant during shifts to ensure smooth operations and adherence to standards
- Ensure that management checklists are completed accurately and all duties are fulfilled
- Create and maintain a weekly front-of-house (FOH) schedule, ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
- Assist in the organization of schedule management and notify management in writing of any schedule changes.
- Record and organize weekly management meeting minutes and tasks.
- Provide administrative support as required and perform special projects as assigned
- Ensure that all checklists and administrative materials are present in the restaurant.
- Provide excellent customer experience by maintaining high service standards.
- Serve as the on-site liaison for groups in the restaurant, ensuring their needs are met
- Meet restaurant financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, maintaining inventory, and initiating corrective actions.
- Cost control and waste minimization to improve financial performance.
- Conduct complimentary, voids, and reads on POS and credit card terminals.
- Assist staff with nightly cash-outs, ensuring all bills are closed appropriately and in the correct format
- Notify management of maintenance issues or items that need to be ordered.
- Maintain ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, linen service, glassware, dinnerware, and utensil quality and placement, monitor food presentation and service.
- Always maintain communication with management.
- Prepare and complete action plans based on operational needs.
- Document any problems using an Incident Report and ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
