Summary:

The Pet Care Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the pet care department, ensuring the well-being, safety, and happiness of all animals under our care.

This role requires a deep understanding of animal behavior, strong leadership skills, and a passion for providing exceptional care to pets.

Key Responsibilities:

Animal Care and Welfare:
Supervise daily activities related to the care and wellbeing of all animals.
Ensure proper feeding, grooming, and exercise routines are followed.
Monitor and assess the health of each animal, coordinating veterinary care when necessary.
Implement and enforce hygiene and cleanliness standards in animal living areas.

Team Leadership:

Lead a team of pet care professionals, providing guidance and support.
Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team members' knowledge of animal care best practices.
Schedule and coordinate staff rotations to ensure adequate coverage and optimal care.

Safety and Compliance:

Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address potential hazards.
Keep abreast of industry trends and updates related to pet care.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and uptodate records of each animal's health, behavior, and special requirements.
Prepare reports on the overall wellbeing and status of animals for management review.

Enrichment and Activities:

Develop and implement enrichment programs to enhance the mental and physical stimulation of animals.
Organize and oversee recreational activities to ensure a positive and engaging environment.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a pet care and at a veterianiary clinic.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent knowledge of animal behavior, health, and nutrition.
Customer serviceoriented with effective communication skills.
Ability to handle and resolve conflicts or challenging situations.
Certification in pet care or relevant field is a plus.

Working Conditions:

The Pet Care Supervisor may work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor facilities. The role may involve exposure to animal allergens and occasional physically demanding tasks.
