- Facilitating the implementation ofthe This Company Safety Management System, along with itsobjectives and expectations, including developing associated safetyprocesses and participating inself-assessments.
- Inspecting onshore andoffshore drilling rigs, workover equipment, and other supportfacilities, with in-depth knowledge of well control equipment andprocedures obtained through attending Basic Well ControlSchool.
- Identifying, evaluating, recommendingactions, and following up on critical safety tasks and controlmethodologies related to operational safety practices such as workat height, isolation/LOTO, permit to work, hydrogen sulfide,confined space entry, andexcavations.
- Participating in safety studiesand activities using risk assessment and mitigation methodologies,such as PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliancereviews, or insurance surveys.
- Developingand/or reviewing corporate safety standards, instructions, andprocedures related to upstream operations, formalizing them intocompany-documented practices asrequired.
- Reviewing designs of oil and gasfield facilities for compliance with company and industry safetystandards.
- Assisting in the development ofEmergency Response Plans for credible scenarios, with a workingknowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS), and attendingemergency drills as an observer to providefeedback.
- Responding to emergency situationsand incidents, providing technical assistance and advice during orafter regular working hours.
- Supporting thereporting, classification, and investigation of all incidents,participating in incident investigations to determine root causes,and making proper recommendations to preventrecurrence.
- Delivering Loss Prevention-specifictraining to employees, contractors, and outsideparties.
- Mentoring other Loss Preventionpersonnel.
