    Speech-LanguagePathologist

    FULLTIME & PRN POSITION AVALIBLE
    JOBSUMMARY

    TheSpeech-Language Pathologist plans, conducts and evaluates thetreatment program for individuals with disorders in thecomprehension and production of speech and language, as set forthby the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.

    Under thedirection of the attending physician, the Speech-LanguagePathologist provides assessment and treatment of cognitive andswallowing disorders.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Licensed, registered orcertified by the state in which the Speech-Language Pathologistresides or practices speech pathology. Certificate of ClinicalCompetence from the American Speech-Language and HearingAssociation.

    PHYSICALDEMANDS
    Requiresmoderately heavy occupational exertion on a regular and reoccurringbasis. Regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel and hearand talk. Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands andarms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit.
    Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds. Specific visionabilities include close, peripheral, depth perception and abilityto adjust focus.

    WORKINGCONDITIONS
    General office, health care setting- exposure to infectious disease.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    1. Evaluatespatient s speech and language abilities, both defects and assets,and evaluates the patient s level of function. Plans and providesrehabilitative services for speech and language disorders. Assistsin developing and updating the plan of treatment. Providesassessment and treatment of cognitive and swallowingdisorders.

    2.

    Observes, reports and recordstype of treatment and patient s responses to it, reports progressand/or regression to physician and Program Supervisor.

    Submits tothe physician and the Program Supervisor written reports of thepatient s progress at the designated intervals and at discharge ofthe patient using the appropriate and designated forms.

    3. Selects and administers diagnostic and therapeutictechniques and materials for patient evaluation and treatmentpurposes. Recommends augmentative communication devices/aids asneeded such as gesture systems, communication boards, electricalautomated devices and mechanical devices in the patient.

    4.

    Adheres to all applicable federal, state, local andcompany maintained standards of care and ethics and policiesconcerned with the practice of therapy and among other things,personnel qualifications.


    5. Participates instaff development activities and in in-service educationprograms.

    6. Demonstrates evidence ofcontinuing education conducted for in-service sessions.

    7. Meets productivity and utilization expectations asestablished by the Company and the facility.


    • Completes clinical documentation to include functionalgoal-setting, progress and therapeutic approach timely andaccurately.
    9. Completesadministrative/billing documentation timely andaccurately.

    10. Covers more than onefacility as required by the need of the Company.
