Description
Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards in gas line pipe construction projects.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits onsite to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and equipment deficiencies, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to develop and implement effective safety plans and risk management strategies.
- Provide safety training and orientations for new hires and existing employees, emphasizing proper safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and nearmisses, analyze root causes, and recommend preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and other relevant safetyrelated activities.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with hazardous material handling and storage procedures, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in safety management to continuously improve safety performance and reduce risks.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among employees and subcontractors through regular communication, training programs, and safety initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, clients, and other stakeholders on matters related to safety, environmental compliance, and occupational health.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management, preferably in gas line pipe construction or related industries.
- Familiarity with local safety regulations and industry standards in the United Arab Emirates.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software.
- Must possess own visa or obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer.
Duration: 18 months contract
