- Experience in conducting and managing productive plant breedingexperiments on diverse crops (annual and perennial crops of thearid region) in greenhouse and field conditions.
- Experience ininbreeding, crossbreeding, outcrossing, mutation breeding,interspecific hybridization and selection.
- Highly proficient indata management, analysis (hands on phenotypic and geneticanalysis), and interpretation of scientific data sets of thebreeding experiments using relevant tools/programs.
- Demonstratedexcellence in marker assisted plant breeding, application ofgenomics and molecular biology, QTL mapping, whole genomeprediction methodologies andbioinformatics.

Minimum Qualification A doctoral degree inrelated research fieldPreferred Qualification The candidate shouldpossess a doctoral degree in related research field with at least 3years of postdoctoral experience and a minimum of 3 first-authoredand/or corresponding authored papers in peer-reviewed journals ofimpact factor > 2 in the last 5 years.
Candidate is expected to undertake major researchprojects, publish research and review articles in academicjournals, prepare patents if applicable, write proposals to obtainfunding for future research projects, and to provide academicleadership to students and trainees.
