Job Description:


Enhance teamwork spirit across the various offices and ensure experience and knowledge share in between urban designer is happening frequently.

Ensure all graduate urban designers and other new urban design fresh recruits are receiving the required and needed support to meet the expectations of the tasks assigned to them and to integrate well with the other team members
Drive market and desktop research objectives and topics according to project briefs and office thought leadership topics. Streamline relevant research information and outputs for review by senior staff. Able to steer online research in a timely manner and more effectively.
Represent adequately site reviews and site opportunity and constraints for project and client discussions. Question thoughts and validate design ideas following thorough reading of sites characteristics.
Present a good understanding of urban design principles with consideration to urban scale and urban hierarchy.

Understand the impact of integrating the work of other internal disciplines or external consultant/stakeholders in the design sequence as well as the deliverables output.

Propose relevant and applicable urban design typologies for further review and discussions with senior designer.
Identify international and local benchmarks and precedents for further studies and steer the review effectively as per projects requirement.
Structure urban design deliverables and reports according to the scope of services and the applicable planning authorities' requirements.
Fair descriptive writing of urban design principles and urban design guidelines
Think in a 3-dimensional manner and able to represent ideas clearly verbally and graphically.
Acquired definitions of basic urban design attributes used across urban Design projects.
Translate and represent innovative design solutions through digital tools and personal skills.
Identify new potential areas of innovation and improvement that the urban design team can benefit from.
Actively participates in internal workshops with ability to put together summary outcome reports.
Prepare material for external workshops.

Have fair understanding of safety in design standards and procedures and able to report on safety inside and outside the work environment and in the design process to senior staff.


Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience in Urban Design - Must have Bachelors degree in Architecture or Urban Design. Masters degree preferred. Working towards professional membership in Urban Design or Architecture e.g. RIBA or equivalent.
