- Provide patient focused Critical CareMedicine and ensure optimal clinical care of patients in thedepartment in line with the clinical privilegesgranted.
- Work within a multidisciplinary teamwith a personalised and caringattitude.
- Provide leadership, supervision, andsupport to junior clinical staff. Help develop and participate in,a postgraduate training program for all clinicalstaff.
- Development, implementation, andrevision of the department's scope ofservices
- Foley Catheter insertion andremoval
- Peripheral intravenous access andremoval
- Nasogastric tube insertion andremoval
- Cardiac Telemetry/EKG rhythminterpretation
- Operational responsibility forthe identification of resources required for his/her department,and the effective utilisation of the said resources withinbudgetary guidelines.
- To understand and complywith the principles of clinical governance,specifically:
- Leading quality improvementinitiatives within the department
- Assessingrisk, incident reports and participating in riskmanagement
- SpecialisationDegree
- Minimum 3 years post specialization inCritical Care Knowledge / TechnicalSkills:
- Three years' experience in anacute care hospital intensive care unit
- BLScertification
- ACLScertified
- Good interpersonal and communicationskills
- Criticaldecision-making
