    Responsibilities

    • Provide patient focused Critical CareMedicine and ensure optimal clinical care of patients in thedepartment in line with the clinical privilegesgranted.
    • Work within a multidisciplinary teamwith a personalised and caringattitude.
    • Provide leadership, supervision, andsupport to junior clinical staff. Help develop and participate in,a postgraduate training program for all clinicalstaff.
    • Development, implementation, andrevision of the department's scope ofservices
    • Foley Catheter insertion andremoval
    • Peripheral intravenous access andremoval
    • Nasogastric tube insertion andremoval
    • Cardiac Telemetry/EKG rhythminterpretation
    • Operational responsibility forthe identification of resources required for his/her department,and the effective utilisation of the said resources withinbudgetary guidelines.
    • To understand and complywith the principles of clinical governance,specifically:
    • Leading quality improvementinitiatives within the department
    • Assessingrisk, incident reports and participating in riskmanagement

    Qualification

    • SpecialisationDegree
    • Minimum 3 years post specialization inCritical Care Knowledge / TechnicalSkills:
    • Three years' experience in anacute care hospital intensive care unit
    • BLScertification
    • ACLScertified
    • Good interpersonal and communicationskills
    • Criticaldecision-making
