    Description
    TheTest Technician interacts with other engineering groups to define,document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for diesel and gasengines. All work follows generally prescribed routines, withsupervision being readilyavailable.

    Duties andResponsibilities
    • Analyzetest data and provide accurate reports. Make recommendations on anyanomalies as to the reason/corrective action.
    • Develop,design, build, and validate specialized Dyne ancillary equipment tosupport specialized testrequirements.
    • Developand create complex CAN protocol to facilitate communication withdyne control/data acquisition, and validateperformance.
    • Developand build intricate test profiles for Dyne Control/Data Acquisitionandimplementation.
    • Collaboratewith Application Engineering to design by drawing, measuring,cutting, and welding any specialty part, test rig, or componentrequired.
    • Setup and build engines including assembly anddisassembly.
    • Evaluatecritical situations in the lab and make decisions to best resolveissues.
    • Testand diagnose mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or electronicproblems with engines; recommend and developresolutions
    • Preparequality reports, track, and maintain answers for reports
    • Createand implement innovative ideas that will result in incremental ordramatic improvement; commitment to continualimprovement
    • Managespecial projects asassigned
    • Driveforklift in a safe manner, ensuring loads are stable andsecure
    • Responsiblefor safety, tool inventory, and cleanliness of shoparea
    • Maintainan organized and secure workenvironment
    • Supportco-workers in other departments asneeded
    • Informthe Manager of all noteworthyactivities
    • Followsafety guidelines and department and corporate policies andprocedures
    JobKnowledge, Skills, andAbilities
    • Thoroughknowledge of the engineering and mechanics involved in theinstallation and operation of diesel and gasolineengines
    • Abilityto test engines using test equipment and tools and diagnose engineand component failure in a variety of circumstances with incompleteinformation
    • Abilityto operate fork lifttrucks
    • Experiencein electrical engineering regarding design and development of testand data acquisitionequipment
    • Knowledgeof fabrication, machining, welding andplumbing
    • KnowledgeOSHA regulations and EPArequirements
    • Strongcommand of the English language, both written and verbal and beable to comprehend a variety of instructions, both oral andwritten
    • Abilityto communicate in a professional manner
    • Abilityto be tactful and diplomatic in challengingsituations
    • Excellentpresentation as well as oral and written communication skills
    • Strongproblem solving and discernment skills for various decisions.Excellent analyticalskills
    • Abilityto maintain high level of confidentiality
    • Workingknowledge of word processing and presentation applications andadvanced knowledge of spreadsheetapplications
    • Workingknowledge of Diadem, CAD, Lab View and advanced knowledge ofInertia DyneControl
    • Abilityto travel, possibility overnight, often with last minute notice;travelinternationally
    EducationandTraining
    • Bachelor'sdegree in engineering preferred or equivalent vocationaltraining
    • Certificateor courses in dynamometeroperations
    • 3– 5 years experience in gasoline and/or diesel enginediagnostics andrepair
