Job Purpose: The P&LOfficer role will oversee the procurement of spare partsconsumables and services for Airport Ground Support Equipment (GSE)and Cargo Handling Equipment for dnata Technical Services incollaboration with Emirates Group Procurement. The responsibilitiesinclude the sourcing and buying of goods or services Purchase Ordercreation expediting invoice payment monitoring and managing thevendors ongoing performance according to company policy proceduresand governance.
Responsible for the sourcing evaluationand negotiation for one group of specific complex and high valuecommodities or services to achieve value for money at the lowesttotal cost of ownership and best competitive position for thecompany in accordance with best practice Procurement &Logistics techniques.
Job Outline:
Source prequalify and evaluate suppliers to assess what servicesand products they are qualified to provide thereby ensuring thatthe correct products and services are available.
Independently decide on and authorise supplyorders and contracts for values upto AED 5000. Where contractvalues exceed this financial limit analyse and prepare reports& recommendations for review & approval atP&L Superintendent/P&L Manager/dTS Manager.
Receive complex or high value purchaserequisition and enquiries from Departments confirm and / or helpdefine department requirements and issue for enquiry.
In conjunction with User Departments developtender documents to produce detailed specifications (includinggathering Legal and Insurance advice) and to subsequently issue fortender to obtain equal and competitive quotations. For tenders ofhigh complexity the job holder will also work with the linesupervisor in the development of the tender specifications.
Negotiate contract prices and terms andconditions for one group of complex and /or high value commoditiesor services to ensure that the Companys best contractual andcommercial position is attained.
Prepare initialdocumentation of Commercial terms and Operational requirements(Contracts) for review by P&L Superintendent.
Ensure that all aspects ofthe contracts and purchase orders placed are satisfied inaccordance with user requirements.
Identify and adviseProcurement and User Department management of any problems with thecompany procurement activity and supply base and proposesolutions.
Carryout in depth Supplier performance monitoring and measurementanalysis and make recommendations to Procurement and UserDepartment management for improvements in the service and qualityprovided to internal customers. Close liaison with User departmentsis required to develop a close relationship and understanding oftheirneeds.
