    Description

    A Certified NursingAssistant's JobResponsibilities:

    • Providesfor activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals,feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, andpositioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishmentbetween meals.
    • Provides adjunct care byadministering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgicalpreps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; andapplying restraints.
    • Maintains patientstability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine andrecording intake and outputinformation.
    • Provides patient comfort byutilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answeringpatients' call lights and requests; and reportingobservations of the patient to nursingsupervisor.
    • Documents actions by completingforms, reports, logs, and records.
    • Maintainswork operations by following policies andprocedures.
    • Protects organization'svalue by keeping patient informationconfidential.
    • Serves and protects the hospitalcommunity by adhering to professional standards, hospital policiesand procedures; federal, state, and local requirements; and jcahostandards.
    • Updates job knowledge byparticipating in educational opportunities, reading professionalpublications, participating in professional organizations, andmaintaining licensure.
    • Enhances nursingdepartment and hospital reputation by accepting ownership foraccomplishing new and different requests; and exploringopportunities to add value to jobaccomplishments.
