Covanta is seeking aControl Room Operator (CRO) to join our Covanta EssexWaste-to-Energy Facility We are looking for a dedicated individualwho, working under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisorand with a team of Operators, is responsible for monitoring andcontrol of all plant systems. This position will respond to alarmsby taking appropriate corrective actions and execute approved plantshutdown and start-up procedures, and assure that the plant meetsit's operational, environmental and safety commitments.The Control Room Operator (CRO) provides guidance to Crane andAuxiliary Operators to maintain safe and efficientoperation.

PositionRequirements:

• To qualify you must have a HSdiploma/GED with a minimum of 3 yrs of power plant/relevantexperience. Associate degree in a technical field or equivalentexperience is preferred.
• Candidate must passthe ASME QRO Provisional Licensing exam within the first year ofholding the position.
• Must be able to work12-hour rotating shifts.
• Must be able to workovertime.
• Basic computer knowledge, experiencereading blueprints, P&ID's and schematicspecifications.
• Strong leadership and excellentoral and written skills, including the ability to problem solve andmake good decisions. Adequate math skills to complete required jobfunctions.
• The capability to manage criticalevents and prioritize in an emergency, providing clear directionsin operational, safety and environmentaltasks.
