The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all transportation resources for the company.This includes working with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods, and coordinating with internal departments to ensure that products are delivered to customers on time.
The Transportation Coordinator must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong knowledge of transportation logistics.Transportation Coordinator Job Responsibilities
- Research and compare transportation options
- Coordinate schedules and routes
- Monitor transportation costs
- Maintain records of transportation activity
- Handle customer service inquiries related to transportation
Objectives
- To ensure the timely and efficient transportation of goods and people.
- To develop and implement effective transportation plans and programs.
- To coordinate with other departments and agencies to optimize resources and minimize costs.
- To monitor trends and developments in the transportation industry to identify opportunities for improvement.
- To prepare reports on transportation activities, performance, and expenditures
Transportation Coordinator Job Skills & Qualifications Needed
a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as experience in customer service, logistics, and/or transportation. Additionally, strong communication, organizational, and computer skills are necessary for this position.
