The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences, is seeking to hire a postdoctoral research associate to work with Professor Oussama El-Kadri on the development of porous materials (polymers, MOFs, COFs, etc.) for hydrogen storage application.
Ideal applicants should be self-motivated and independent researchers with a strong background in the all aspects of porous materials chemistry, including synthesis and characterization.
Job ResponsibilitiesConduct all experimental work related to the project Produce monthly reports and help in writing manuscripts Provide occasional lab supervision to shadowing undergraduate students Adhere to laboratory safety rules
Qualifications And Experience Required
PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering or material science Proven skills in chemical synthesis and preparation of polymers and/or porous material Strong skills in characterization techniques and operating instruments such as BET surface area measurements, SEM, TGA, etc.
