Full Job Description:

The EHS Officer is responsible for providing support and assist in managing Occupational Health Safety and Environment in company.


The EHS Officer carries out the day-to-day operations of the HSE Department by providing technical support to the QHSE Manager.

He/she will be required to execute field monitoring duties on employees as well as contractor's activities.

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

General HSE Functions

  • Conducts risk assessments and develops a HSE gap analysis for the company.
  • Produces status reports on a monthly basis and undertakes followup on recommended remedial action to ensure compliance.
  • Prepares and issues HSE information/guidelines to internal stakeholders as necessary.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of relevant HSE policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates HSE training as directed and completes HSE Audits in accordance with the OSHAD.
  • Performs Health & Safety Risk Assessments both scheduled and unscheduled.
  • Develops a list of PPE to be issued to employees based on roles within the company.
  • Attends safety meetings and followsup on outstanding safety issues as necessary.
  • Assists in the development of Emergency Evacuation Procedures as directed.
  • Highlights noncompliance of safety issue(s) with assigned Dept. Manager and records discussions inclusive of recommendations with timelines for management's information and followup action
  • Participates in HSE related meetings and takes Minutes for followup action.
  • Assists in ensuring that HSE signage is posted in all relevant areas as per OSHAD requirements.
  • Develops and maintains an up to date HSE Register/database.
  • Ensuring HSE Regulations and compliance are followed at site & complying with company HSE/IMS policies and regulations, are compliant with legal regulations, IMS standards for HSE Management.
  • Developing and implementing Yearly training plan that includes Induction Trainings, Refresher Trainings, firefighting, first aid, Internal auditors, Forklift safety, Chemicals safety, IDB/OSHAD trainings, Heat Stress, Risk Assessments, Manual Handling, Work at height, TBT (Regularly).
  • Developing and Implementing Daily, Weekly and monthly Inspections that includes all site inspections, all firefighting equipment Inspections, Spill kits, Eye washes, CCTV monitoring, first aids and assist in Quarterly performance report to SRA IDB (Industrial Development Bureau) against KPI's.
  • Ensuring and implementing PTW (Hot works, Work at height, Confined space, High voltage access, Lockout /Tag out for in house works and contractor activities.
  • Ensuring contractor's management on site Prechecks for procedures, documentation verification and record, HSE management during work and performance review of contractors.
  • Emergency planning, evacuation routes, exits and pathways, conducting and evaluating drills.
  • Ensuring availability of all PPEs requirements, Technical PPEs for highrisk activities (Furnace etc).
  • Planning and Management of internal and external EHS & IMS Audits.
  • Investigation of all incidents/ near misses/ first aids etc as per OSHAD / IDB and company policies.
  • Expertise in hazard identification, risk analysis, risk assessments and control measures (effectively revised all risk assessments in the company & proposed many technical solutions for risks).
  • Ensuring EHS Monitoring, water analysis, third party inspections for forklifts, cranes & air receivers.
  • Health surveillance programs for employees after every year and maintaining record for the same.
  • Investigation of deviations, nonconformance and proposal of preventive measures.
  • Actively participate in Energy management team and supports energy management function.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • Graduate or post graduate qualification in occupational health and safety or Engineering degree with relevant OHS certificates.
  • Minimum 2 Years Experience.
