    POSITION SUMMARYThe Area Directorof Finance is to provide strategic financial leadership inachieving profit cash flow and key performance goals while furtherenhancing owner relationships and managing Marriott Investments inthe designated countries.

    Partner with the Area VP or Area MD andVP Operations Finance to help make optimal business decisions forthe designated properties/brands in the EMEA Continent.

    Provide astrategic perspective and use sound financial skills and businessacumen to identify profitable opportunities anticipate challengesand create competitive breakthrough strategies while ensuring acontrolled financial environment and protecting and strengtheningMarriotts competitive advantage.

    SCOPEThe AreaDirector of Finance provides support to the owned / leased managedproperties in their Area and in addition to properties underdevelopment


    Location requirements:
    The Area Director of Finance tobe located in UAE


    Language Requirements:
    High proficiency(speaking reading and writing) in English it is preferable to havea second language


    Travel Requirements:
    50 80% with a base in theassigned location within the Continent.


    CANDIDATEPROFILEExperience 10 years progressive financial managementexperience with at least 2 years in the field Lodging/hospitalityknowledge preferredSkills and Knowledge Demonstrated leadershipability Excellent verbal writing listening and presentation skillsExperience working in an international environment and withInternational SOPs and MIPs Excellent finance accounting andanalytical skills including experience with cash managementforecasting revenue management strategies capital expenditureplanning and budgeting and project management Experience evaluatingbusiness trends and developing and successfully implementing newbusiness programs and strategies that enhance financial performancein a complex multidimensional operating environment Experience inowner relations is required Previous responsibility for multisiteproperties and geographical knowledge Knowledge of legal contractsand management agreements Knowledge of internal controls Effectiveunderstanding of Marriott Headquarter processes and be able to workwith diverse entity tax and legal teams Effective in developingrelationships Experience with complex operating and financialagreements; demonstrated success in evaluating risks and developingproactive strategies and plans to mitigate business issues Abilityto interpret objectively property management agreements and thecash flow distribution Knowledge of hotel systems; use of systemsand for purchasing decisions how systems help the company Knowledgeof the tools Marriott provides for forecasting budgeting etc.

    Interpersonal relationship skills for LPAs manpower planning hotelvisits decision making etc. Supporting and supervising DOFs acrossvarious countries with different languages Education orCertification Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance orequivalent required MBA or equivalent preferred CPA or equivalentpreferred
