Thisperson provides technical expertise in materials and specialprocesses for a wide variety of aircraft and aerospace products.Responsibilities include evaluating alternate materials andprocesses, reviewing industry specifications, troubleshootingmaterial and process related issues, creating, and maintainingstandard processspecifications.
RolesandResponsibilities

• Evaluateand identify alternate materials and processes used in the designof aircraft structures and aerospaceproducts.
• Functionas the facility's subject matter expert on metallurgy andrelated materialprocesses
• Providetechnical expertise on a variety of materials used in aerospaceproducts and assemblies, including plastics, electronics, metals,andcomposites.
• Supportthe evaluation and specification of special manufacturing processessuch as heat treat, passivation, finishes and coatings forcorrosionprevention.
• Supportinvestigation of material issues encountered during productmanufacture, testing, andoperation.
• Develop,maintain, and revise internal materials and process specificationsstandards in accordance with configuration managementstandards
• Reviewand monitor revisions of industry standards and determineapplicability to internal processstandards
• Contributeto Material Review Board (MRB) and failure investigation activitiesto ensure material discrepancies and anomalies are thoroughlydocumented, reviewed, analyzed anddispositioned
• Supportinternal and external process audits in accordance with AS9100standards
• SupportContinuous Improvementactivities
• SupportCompliance, as well as Environmental, Health & Safetyefforts in support of plantgoals

RequiredQualifications

• B.S.Degree in Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, orrelated technical discipline and minimum of 5 years of materialsrelatedexperience.
• Experienceworking with materials and process problem solving in amanufacturingsetting.
• Expertisein manufacturing processes for one or more of the following corecompetency areas: heat treating, welding, specialtycoatings.
• Expertisein material performance andcharacteristics.
• Demonstratedability to troubleshoot and resolve difficultproblems.
• Understandingof Aerospace industry standards andspecifications.
• Strongcommunication and teamworkskills.
• Mustbe a US Citizen or Green CardHolder
