Description

• Study script to understand costumerequirements in terms of setting, era and characterattributes
• Perform research on historicalperiods and different regions
• Develop costumeplots for characters
• Create preliminarysketches of costumes and present them forapproval
• Produce the final designs withfabrics, styles and colours
• Work with costumemakers to materialize sketches
• Hire or buyready costumes when necessary
• Ensure costumesstay within budget
• Supervise fittings andrehearsals
• Assume responsibility for returning,storing or disposing of used costumes after filming
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a costumedesigner or similar role
• Knowledge of design,sewing and textiles
• Understanding a range ofstyles and cultural/historicalelements
• Aptitude inresearch
• Excellent communication and peopleskills
• Creativity and attention todetail
